It’s generally not considered a good idea to ignore pain, discomfort, unexplained limitations to movement or other sudden physical changes! When your body begins to express physical symptoms or changes, it is attempting to communicate a change to your health and wellbeing (which may be of real significance further down the line!). Ignoring symptoms may lead you to experience more chronic (and potentially more difficult to treat) pain and other symptoms. In other words body talk by way of physical symptoms are your body’s way of telling you that your optimum state of balance has shifted in some way.
Often the nature of the onset of symptoms or ‘back story’ can provide lots of really valuable information which points towards why you might be suffering in the first place. The physical symptoms may also be highlighting a cause which is more psycho-emotional in nature. The key here is to link the main indicators into your story in a way that resonates as truth. It can be a fascinating process of getting to grips with the bigger picture when we investigate through a MindBody approach. It always useful to consider what you were doing around the time of onset? How we’re you feeling? What might have been worrying you?
As with most conditions, early diagnosis is crucial to promptly restoring your underlying health status back to its ideal state, as well as an important step towards avoiding more serious developments. Early intervention can also significantly reduce the long term use (and reliance) on anti-inflammatory and painkilling medications. This is where initiating early and effect pain relief becomes crucial.
Interferences to your health can sometimes take time to recover – particularly when symptom have become more chronic! However, chronic states of poor health are not always easily avoided, but fortunately, taking a holistic approach to your current condition can be a game changer in achieving a desirable outcome.
