Osteopathy | Life Coaching
for Body & Mind
‘I have been a therapist for over 25 years now and still really enjoy helping people to release tension, stress and pain — it’s extremely rewarding.
I also value empowering others with the necessary tools and understanding to create improvements to their own health and wellbeing.
Essentially, I help people to achieve physical ease and emotional wellbeing …naturally.
Are you in need of an integrated MindBody approach?’
Over 25 Years Of Therapeutic Experience
I qualified from the University College of Osteopathy (formerly the British School of Osteopathy) London Bridge in 2001 after four years of training and have been in practice ever since. In 2003, I began another two years of post graduate training at the Osteopathic Centre for Children. Completing this highly specialised paediatric training (using cranial osteopathic techniques) enabled me to more effectively incorporate treatments for both expectant mothers and children into my general practice, while also significantly refining my skillset as a Cranial Osteopath.
In 2019 I begun to integrate Life Coaching into my osteopath practice. Now I enjoy running a general practice which uses a unique MindBody approach -offering longer appointment times and combination of approaches.
For more than two decades, I’ve treated a diverse range of people across many cultural backgrounds and socio economic groups, suffering a broad range of complaints. It’s been a most insightful journey. My practice has provided me with a wealth of experience and I’m grateful to have encountered such a meaningful career.
Examination, Treatment, Exercises And Advice
Your first 1 hour Osteopathic consultation is key to gathering all of the necessary information to make an accurate diagnosis before identifying a suitable course of treatment. We’ll begin with a thorough case history, where you’ll have ample opportunity to discuss the details surrounding the onset and history of your condition. Once the main contributing factors have been identified, we’ll move directly into physical examination, before establishing a working diagnosis and initiating treatment.
The examination will typically begin with a standing examination, followed by passive and active movement assessments. Orthopaedic, neurological and postural assessments may be conducted before the start of your treatment. A uniquely tailored combination of Structural and Cranial Osteopathic Techniques will be used in accordance with your needs and personal preferences.
Exercises, advice, follow up visits and treatment frequency will be discussed towards the end of your first visit, and time allowed for any questions that you may have. Treatment consultations will slightly from individual to another. Occasionally, it may be necessary to refer you back to your GP (or other primary care professional) for further investigations such as x-rays, MRI, CT scans and urine or blood tests.
Specialist Paediatric/Cranial Osteopath
Though the Cranial Osteopathic Approach has become popularised in the treatment of young babies (due to it’s gentle and soothing nature), it can also be a highly beneficial treatment approach for people of all ages and so has become an integral part of my integrative MindBody approach.
Cranial osteopathic treatments are suitable for a wide range of complaints including unsettled babies and children, physical pains and strains in adults, sports related injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation and more.
Body Talk & Observing The Signals
It’s generally not considered a good idea to ignore pain, discomfort, unexplained limitations to movement or other sudden physical changes! When your body begins to express physical symptoms or changes, it is attempting to communicate a change to your health and wellbeing (which may be of real significance further down the line!). Ignoring symptoms may lead you to experience more chronic (and potentially more difficult to treat) pain and other symptoms. In other words body talk by way of physical symptoms are your body’s way of telling you that your optimum state of balance has shifted in some way.
Often the nature of the onset of symptoms or ‘back story’ can provide lots of really valuable information which points towards why you might be suffering in the first place. The physical symptoms may also be highlighting a cause which is more psycho-emotional in nature. The key here is to link the main indicators into your story in a way that resonates as truth. It can be a fascinating process of getting to grips with the bigger picture when we investigate through a MindBody approach. It always useful to consider what you were doing around the time of onset? How we’re you feeling? What might have been worrying you?
As with most conditions, early diagnosis is crucial to promptly restoring your underlying health status back to its ideal state, as well as an important step towards avoiding more serious developments. Early intervention can also significantly reduce the long term use (and reliance) on anti-inflammatory and painkilling medications. This is where initiating early and effect pain relief becomes crucial.
Interferences to your health can sometimes take time to recover – particularly when symptom have become more chronic! However, chronic states of poor health are not always easily avoided, but fortunately, taking a holistic approach to your current condition can be a game changer in achieving a desirable outcome.
Sessions with me will align with a holistic care approach. This may include anything from relevant advice and support in understanding the bigger picture, possible lifestyle changes, ergonomic advice, helpful exercise approaches, use of ice and heat to encourage more rapid healing, postural assessment and care, stress management, overcoming self limiting habits/behaviours to creating a beneficial health goals to strive towards – all over the course of time.

‘I had my first treatment with Kelly more than 10 years ago when I was a school teacher and she has supported my physical and emotional health ever since.
